What Did I Pull ?:

Box Loader:

This is a great idea from Topps! I like these felt medallions! I must admit though, this isn't the one that I pulled. I traded for this Cardinal medallion a few weeks ago for my personal collection. I'm showing this one to you so you can see what they look like. Expect a contest soon for your chance to win the great box loader that came out of this box!

Base Cards

Heritage has some of the best base cards you'll find anywhere! The close-up photo of the player on the front is excellent, and the cards back gives you a great tidbit of information about the featured player. (Did you know that Carlos Delgado is 1 of 4 players with 10 straight 30-HR seasons? And, he holds the record with 131 interleague RBI ?)

Mickey Mantle HR

I pulled 4 of these great cards! This is undoubtedly the best insert set of this product! I pulled HR # 1 - 4 - 12- 36. The front of the card shows a great picture of "The Mick", and the back gives you the details of the HR that is specified on the front. (Micks first HR of 58 was against Tom Brewer of the Boston Red Sox, it happened April 17th, at Fenway Park in the 5th inning, with no one on base).

Alex Rodriguez Road to 500

I pulled 1 of the Arod "Road to 500" cards. This is card #67. The front is very flashy and shiny, but still easy on the eyes. The Topps folks spent some time on this insert, and it's sure to pay off! I expect this to be a highly collectible insert set. The back of the card gives basically the same info as the Mickey Mantle HR card.

New Age Performers

Great insert of one of the best to play the game! I pulled Frank Thomas. The comic on back says "That Guys costing us a fortune in baseballs! (I was smiling when I read that, it kinda reminds me of my old softball playing days----we didn't have anyone on the team that could knock the ball out, so we just showed up with 1 ball each game!)

Then and Now

Well, this was a pleasant surprise! I collect Stan Musial cards and when I pulled this one, it was just like Christmas for me! The card depicts Stan the Man, and Travis Hafner. This one shows Stan and Hafner on the front, and their "on base percentage" on the cards back.

Relic Cards

I pulled a "Clubhouse Collection" Eric Chavez GU card. This is a nice insert, plain and simple looking on the front, but packed with info on the back.

Chrome & Black-Bordered

I pulled 2 chromes #'d out of 1958, Garret Anderson & Jeremy Hermida. I also pulled a black bordered card of Delwyn Young #'d /58. All 3 of these cards are top quality, and would fit great in any baseball collection! I expect these to be highly sought after by set collectors. Great looking cards, with the high quality that we've came to expect from Topps!

Final Comments/Grade/Best Card:

Not gonna even try to single out a card as my favorite. (I like em all!) Topps Heritage is always a favorite with the baseball collectors, and this years offering is no different! Great photography, and the inserts will be sure to please. The classic 58 set has been tried and proven, and this replica set does the old favorite justice! The price is very affordable for many, so I'd suggest picking up at least a box, (or a few packs), if you wanna see for yourself. I think you'll find that this is a great product with exceptional value! My hat is off to Topps for their continued pursuit of quality and value!

Grade B+
